How to add okthx to Microsoft Teams
Once okthx is in your Teams, you can message it there like a person, or @mention it in a chat or channel it’s been added to.
Steps:
- In okthx, go to Settings > Connectors
- Click Connect on Microsoft Teams and sign in with your work account
- okthx adds itself to your Teams and sends you a welcome message there
If okthx can’t add itself, okthx shows an Add to Teams button. Click it and choose Add in Teams. If Teams says the app isn’t available, your organization’s app policy blocks it, and a Teams admin needs to allow it.
For Teams admins
okthx works in Teams through the Okthx app. Your users can add it themselves once your tenant allows it.
- Open the Teams admin center and go to Teams apps > Manage apps
- Search for Okthx. If it isn’t listed, ask support@bigbasinlabs.com for the app package, then choose Upload new app and select it
- Open Okthx and set it to Allowed
- Go to Teams apps > Permission policies and make sure the policy for your users allows the app
- To add okthx for everyone, go to Teams apps > Setup policies and add Okthx under Installed apps
Troubleshooting
- Microsoft says the connect needs admin approval. Some of the permissions okthx asks for need an admin to approve them. Send the request to your admin, or have an admin connect once and choose Consent on behalf of your organization. When okthx adds a permission, an admin who consented for the organization before has to consent again.
- The app isn’t available in Teams. An app permission policy blocks it. A Teams admin can allow it as described above.
- No welcome message arrived. Check that Okthx shows under Apps in Teams. If it doesn’t, use Add to Teams in okthx’s Settings > Connectors.
